About Scarlett
Author of Dark Paranormal Romance
From Reader to Writer
Scarlett Calaway has always been passionate about literature. She started her journey as an avid reader. From Goosebumps to the House of Night series, she began to explore her interests in fiction.
She loved the combination of horror and romance. She then found the genre paranormal romance, which combines her two favorite fiction genres. Her attention was captured by stories involving angels, demons, vampires, and other dark supernatural creatures.
Finding Her Passion
The more Scarlett explored the genre, the more she discovered her favorite tropes. Her favorite stories included romances where the villain gets the girl, romances where the main characters go from enemies to lovers, and romances where it is a forbidden romance. Most of all, Scarlett loved paranormal romances with morally grey characters, characters who are flawed and realistic.
Creating Dark Romance
Finding her niche in fiction, Scarlett transferred her love of reading into writing. Inspired by her favorite elements of paranormal romances, Scarlett took the leap of further building her love of dark romances by writing her own. Scarlett aimed to write the darker love stories she loved so much and for those who love the same tropes and spice in darker paranormal romances. Her first series was titled Lucifer's Design, a dark paranormal romance trilogy including some of her favorite tropes. Her first series was self-published, but she would love to explore all publishing avenues. While writing Lucifer's Design, Scarlett realized her greatest passion was being a writer.
Beyond Writing
However, being a writer is not the only way Scarlett describes herself. A self-titled 'Summer Goth,' she loves the beach as much as hard rock. Scarlett Calaway is also a proud dog mom. She loves to share her hilarious adventures with her fur baby on social media.
