Haunted by the events of that awful night, Anna pushes herself away from every reminder of her former lover, desperate to start over and reclaim some sense of control over her life. But darker forces are still at work, and escape is not as simple as she hopes.

As unseen powers close in around her, Anna is faced with impossible choices that threaten everything she has left. Reader Reviews

★★★★

"This sequel took the story up a notch. I enjoyed the pacing of this one much more, and got to meet my favorite character, Balthazar. The flashbacks really helped solidify our central romance. Genuinely curious to see where things go in book 3. How long will we be on the run, and is Anna going to accept what (and who) she should be running to?"

"It definitely took things a level higher from the first book, both in terms of thrill and intensity. It was even more gripping and enjoyable than the first book... There is something about the writing style that makes this book so easy to read. It is nicely paced and once you start reading you forget to put it down."
